We don’t talk much about celebrities on this site, but we have our heroes like anyone else. This is the justification for noting that legendary ultra-runner Micah True, 60, has gone missing in a New Mexico wilderness area. True, who is also known as “Caballo Blanco,” is one of the central characters in the Chris McDougall book “Born to Run,” which touched off the barefoot/minimalist-running-shoe trend/fad/revolution. He went on a long run in New Mexico last Tuesday and hasn’t returned. When a guy disappears in the wilderness for several days, it almost never turns out well. That said, McDougall portrays True as a tough lad with deep, deep resources so we aren’t counting him out.
On a happier note, Jerry Lee Lewis, 76, who is also known as “The Killer,” just got married. This is the seventh time for Lewis, who gives off a vibe that he, too, has wandered for days in the wilderness. Lewis married his caregiver, which is another situation that almost never turns out well. That said, Lewis is marrying Judith Brown, 62, who is the ex-wife of Rusty Brown, Lewis’ second cousin and brother of Myra Gale Brown who is also, obviously, a second cousin, and whom Lewis married in 1957, when she was 13 and he was 23. If crazy energy is close to being a life force, then this is also a man with deep, deep resources. And we would never, ever count him out.
Other celebrity news: MC Hammer just turned 50.
